PM: All Ministers Must Declare Assets

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has instructed all ministers in the new Cabinet to declare their assets.

"All leaders were asked to commit to this under the ‘Aku Janji’ to ensure a high level of integrity. I have also told ministers to declare their assets in the forms that will be distributed, and submit them to the MACC within a month." 

Meanwhile, PAS has given its assurance that all 18 of its MPs will declare their assets as required by Parliament since the party is now part of the government.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin also wants his predecessor, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, to endorse his new administration.

He said he wants to meet with the veteran statesman, and also thanked Dr. Mahathir for stating that his Cabinet would last until the next general election.

"I'm ready to meet him. Anytime. We have formed this government, and I want Tun (Dr Mahathir) to endorse this government. This is the government for the people."It is legal, and it is constitutional."

Political analyst Dr Oh Ei Sun says Tun M and Tan Sri Muhyiddin may even go back to their good old days following the political events of the past week.

"For example in his first public speech he highly praised Dr M...and tried to explain that he was actually doing what Dr Mahathir would like him to do. So some sort of reconciliation between Muhyiddin and Dr M is possible because after all they were from the same party (Bersatu)."

Thousands being tracked down for possible Covid-19 exposure

Health authorities are now tracking around 5,000 locals who could have potentially been exposed to Covid-19 during a religious event at a mosque in Sri Petaling, KL.

This, after an attendee tested positive for the coronavirus.

As such, they are urging those who had attended the religious gathering between February 28 to March 1st, to get tested if they show symptoms for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation has officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic

A pandemic is classified as a disease that is spreading in multiple countries around the world at the same time.

This comes after the number of cases outside China saw a 13-fold increase over the past two weeks, with the coronavirus now reported in more than a hundred countries.
