Govt working to obtain potential COVID-19 vaccines

The Health, Foreign, as well as the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministries are working together, to ensure that Malaysia gets Covid-19 vaccines as soon as they’re made available.
The three ministries have been tasked with identifying countries that are currently developing these vaccines, to find out how we can also be involved in human trials and production.
For a start, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaludin says his Ministry is currently working with the Chinese Embassy in KL, on the possibility of cooperation for Covid-19 vaccine clinical trials.

Govt yet to decide on further MCO extension
Six criteria need to be met, before the government can decide to lift the Movement Control Order.
It includes tight border controls, adequate protection for high-risk groups, and whether Malaysians can continue to abide by social distancing measures.
The Health Director-General says at the moment, the government has yet to decide on whether to extend the MCO, once the third phase ends next week.

Bantuan Prihatin National payments well underway
The Finance Ministry says more than RM5 bil has been paid out so far, to eligible Malaysians under the Bantuan Prihatin National aid scheme.
A further three million appeals and applications are also still being processed, with successful applicants to get their payments next month.
