Apr 22, 2020

The number of patients released from hospital today has exceeded the number of new COVID-19 cases 2 to 1.

103 patients have been discharged compared to only 50 new infections

This brings our tally to 5,532 with over 1,900 being active cases.

43 are currently in ICU, while 25 need breathing assistance.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 93, after one more patient passed away.

Travelling from hometown MAY be allowed during MCO

Those who want to return to urban areas from their hometowns may be allowed to travel during the Movement Control Order, or MCO.

The Defence Minister says starting this Saturday, they can do so by first informing the police.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob adds that this can be done via the Gerak Malaysia app.

Those without internet access can make an appointment at the nearest police station.

However, he stressed that this plan is still being reviewed, and that a decision will be announced soon.

Perlis now COVID-19 green zone

The whole state of Perlis is now free of the coronavirus, after reporting zero active COVID-19 infection cases.

Meanwhile, KL still has the highest number of active cases with over 500 infections, followed by Sarawak and Selangor, with both reporting over 300 cases each.
