Number of recovered patients exceeds number of new COVID-19 cases

The number of recovered patients today has again exceeded the number of new COVID-19 cases.
90 people have been released from hospital, compared to 71 new infections.
The total number of positive cases now stands at 5,603, but 1,900 or so are categorised as active cases.
Meanwhile, the recovery rate currently stands at 63%.
Two more deaths were recorded, raising the death toll to 95.
Also, Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says Malaysia’s border restrictions may be maintained even after the Movement Control Order has been lifted.
Public transport and wet market operating hours extended for Ramadhan
The Movement Control Order’s SOP during Ramadhan will not see any major changes.
However, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says some adjustments will be made to the operating hours for public transport and wet markets.
Operating hours for public transport will be revised from 4pm to 10pm, while wet markets will be allowed to operate until 2pm.
Travelling back to hometown for Ramadhan not allowed during MCO
Travelling back to hometowns for Ramadhan is not allowed during the Movement Control Order.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob clarified that authorities are still deciding whether to allow those who travelled to their hometowns before the MCO, to return to urban areas.
