Newborn tests positive for Covid-19

A newborn baby here has been diagnosed with Covid-19, after being born to a mother who had earlier tested positive for the Coronavirus.
The Health Director-General, however, says they cant confirm at this point, if the infection took place before or after the baby was born.
Separately, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says current trends indicate that we could see a significant drop in new Covid-19 infections by the middle of next month.
Expert welcomes move to allow companies in certain sectors to operate

Political Analyst Dr Oh Ei Sun has welcomed the government’s decision to allow companies in certain sectors to operate at full capacity, saying the move can have a positive chain effect for other businesses:
"For example, there would be some sectors which requires the operation of some other sector which is not yet open. The suppliers may not be able to produce the materials necessary for the manufacturing sectors.”
Dr Oh, however, cautions that this has to be handled carefully, so that the economy can continue despite the MCO.
Health workers to be tested twice for Covid-19
Healthcare workers at Covid-19 facilities nationwide will be tested twice a week for the coronavirus, once we receive the new antigen rapid test kits.
Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the kits are expected to arrive from South Korea by the end of the week.
