Malaysia’s COVID-19 death toll remains at 100, after reporting zero fatalities today.
The Health Ministry also says that 94 new infection cases have been detected, raising our tally to 5,945.
Meanwhile, 55 more people have made full recoveries and were discharged from hospital.
Movement restrictions eased during MCO Phase Four
Some movement restrictions have been eased during phase four of the Movement Control Order, or MCO.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this includes allowing two people to go out for daily necessities.
He says this can only be applied if both live in the same household, or are close family members.
The public can also now travel beyond the 10km radius limit.
Datuk Seri Ismail says this is only allowed if essential services such as medical facilities are not available within the 10km radius.
Students to return to hometowns within same zone as university campus
Starting today over 650 students in university campuses up north, will be travelling to their hometowns within the same zone.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob adds that some 280 students in the Sarawak zone will also be travelling within its own region.
This as students from five university campuses in the northern region have safely arrived in the country’s central zone.
