It is not compulsory to wear a face mask but it is very much encouraged in public areas.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stressed the need to maintain a safe distance of at least one metre apart from each other, as well as ensuring clean hands.

This comes as the number of new Covid-19 cases dropped to 55 yesterday, after two days of triple-digit growth in infections.

This brings the total number of cases to 6,353, with the death toll remaining at 105.

Are you planning to travel within your state? Here's what you need to know

We are now in phase 5 of the Movement Control Order, which means that laws and regulations under the previous phase are null and void.

Constitutional Lawyer Surendra Ananth explains to us the regulation with regards to travelling within your state...

"You’re allowed to travel without any restrictions. The only restriction is under Regulation 4 - you cannot enter or exit from an area which is subject to the extended MCO. You don't need to have a specific purpose for your travel.

"But this is only on the face of the regulation which was released by the Federal Government. Each state might or might not have their own rules and regulations.”

Anyone found flouting the regulation would be fine up to RM1000 and 6 months in jail.

State governments that have refused to the CMCO to re-open the economy, risk legal action from various parties.

International trade and industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Azmin Ali says several industry associations have asked state governments not to stop industries that wanted to resume operations.

The Senior Minister says the federal government policy had already been made into law and was enforceable throughout the country.
