Studies continue indicate that Covid-19 can lead to cardiac problems, sometimes even in healthy patients.

Dato Dr Azmee Mohd Ghazi, Deputy Head of IJN’s Cardiology Department explained one of the ways the coronavirus effects the heart:

“During the virus infection, some of these conditions can actually cause systemic inflammatory response to the body. And during this response, it can also infect the heart and this actually causes heart failure.”

Health DG: Malaysia not in exit strategy phase yet

We have yet to enter the exit strategy phase despite being under the conditional movement control order.

The Health Director General says authorities still need time to monitor developments with regards to Covid19...

Meanwhile, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says there had been fewer instances of patients with influenza-like illnesses and severe acute respiratory infection, which indicates that authorities had the spread of the virus under control.

Barbers and hair salons still not allowed to operate

Barbershops and hair salons have yet to be given the green light to operate.

The Health Director-General says this is because there is a risk of Covid-19 transmission between workers and customers as such cases had been reported overseas.

But, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says authorities will monitor the number of cases in a fortnight, before opening up more sectors.
