Health DG advises parents to keep young kids at home

Malaysia’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 114, after one new fatality was reported today.

Also, 37 new infection cases have been detected, bringing our tally to 6,978.

Of the total infections, only 1,200 are active cases.

Meanwhile, the Health Director General is advising those who go out to buy daily essentials not to bring along young children. 

No legal action will be taken against them, but Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says they will receive police warnings.

Earlier, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said it would be difficult to penalise such parents. 

Authorities to detect those crossing borders for Hari Raya celebrations without police permission

The government has stepped up efforts to prevent people from travelling across state borders to celebrate Hari Raya.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the police and army have set up a special task force to monitor housing areas and villages nationwide to ensure that people are complying with all SOPs.

He adds that the SOP for inter-state travelling remains unchanged, and that crossing state borders is only allowed in emergency cases, or with prior police permission.

Yesterday over 1,600 motorists trying to return to their hometowns for Hari Raya, were told to turn back.

Barbershops still a no go during CMCO

There are still no plans to allow barbershops to resume operations during the Conditional Movement Control Order.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the government will only act based on advice from the Health Ministry.
