Govt working to make sure non-Malaysians abide by SOP

Jun 01, 2020

The Health Ministry is now focusing on ensuring that non-Malaysians abide by its SOPs to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says Malaysians in general have been complying, which is why we have not seen a sudden surge in new cases.

ATMs back to normal

From today, ATMs will revert back to the old operation hours prior to the MCO.

However, the Defense Minister says customers must continue complying with social distancing protocols while using the machines.

-----

Food delivery still popular despite CMCO

Many Malaysians continue to have food delivered to their homes even though restaurants are now allowed to operate under the Conditional MCO.

There may be some who are still concerned about the risk of COVID-19 spreading through food, but respiratory specialist Dr Kow Ken Siong assures the risk of pretty low:

“It is very unlikely that COVID-19 can be spread through thing like cooked food because when you cook food, you actually destroy any viruses. With regards to home food deliveries, although the risk is not zero, it is pretty small."

Dr Kow adds that if you have any concerns at all, you can disinfect the packages and boxes with wet wipes or alcohol wipes.
