Malaysia reports over 200 new COVID-19 cases

277 new COVID-19 cases were reported today.
The Health Ministry says the vast majority of the cases were foreign nationals, mainly linked to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot cluster.
This raises the total number of infections to over 8,200, of which 1,500 are active cases.
The death toll remains unchanged at 115.
Businesses not allowed to force quarantine on workers for crossing state borders
Companies are not allowed to force workers to undergo 14 days of quarantine for crossing state borders, either for work or personal reasons.
The Defence Minister says what makes it worse, is that some of these workers are even forced to take unpaid leave during this period.
Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this is a breach of current SOPs and that the HR Ministry can take action against these companies.
Land Transport Act amendments not just for drunk drivers
The proposed amendments to the Land Transport Act will not just target drunk drivers.
The Transport Ministry says it will cover other forms of reckless driving, such as driving under the influence of drugs and 'mat rempit' motorcycle racers.
This, amid a recent spate of fatal drunk driving accidents.
