Ministers returning from abroad exempted from full quarantine

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba has issued an order to relax quarantine rules for Cabinet ministers returning from official overseas trips.

The order, which takes effect today, reduces ministers' quarantine period from 10 days to 3 days.

They can also choose to undergo surveillance until they can be discharged without danger to the public.

The Health Ministry is still looking for volunteers for its phase 3 Covid-19 vaccine clinical trial in the country.

It says healthy individuals aged 18 and above are welcomed join the trial.

So far, 990 volunteers had agreed to take part, while some 200 individuals have received their first dose.

The Covid-19 infectivity rate in the country has been trending downwards this past week and it is now at 0.91.

Melaka is highest at 1.27 followed by Penang, Selangor, Johor and KL.

This comes after Malaysia reported 3,100 Covid-19 cases along with a record high of 24 fatalities.
