PM announces new PERMAI financial package

Efforts to combat the COVID-19 outbreak have been given a boost, after the government introduced a new financial package called PERMAI worth RM15 billion.

PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says under the package, the final payment of BPN2.0 will be brought forward starting this Thursday.

He adds that banks will continue to offer aid to those affected by the re-introduction of the Movement Control Order…

Meanwhile Tan Sri Muhyiddin says the wage subsidy program will be extended to all sectors.

He says eligible employers will receive a subsidy of 600 ringgit for each worker earning less than 4 thousand ringgit.

MCO enforced in Seremban and PD, Negeri Sembilan from midnight tonight

A Movement Control Order is set to be enforced in Seremban and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan, due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.

The Defence Minister says the order will take effect from midnight tonight for two weeks.

Meanwhile, the Enhanced MCO at Kampung Timbang Dayang, Sabah has been lifted.

The country continues to record a spike in COVID-19 cases

Malaysia reported 3,306 new COVID-19 cases today.

Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 1,213 cases, followed by 432 in Sabah, and Johor 329.

Meanwhile, four more patients have succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 605
