Updated SOPs for Chinese New Year
Feb 08, 2021
Putrajaya has revised some of its Chinese New Year SOPs under the MCO.
The National Unity Ministry says family reunion dinners will now be permitted but it will be limited to 15 family members living within a 10km radius.
However, inter-state or inter-district travel is still off limits.
The Ministry has also agreed to prayer activities at places of worship on specific dates, but this will be subjected to strict SOPs.
Malaysia added another 3,731 Covid-19 cases yesterday along with 15 fatalities.
This brings the overall tally to over 242,000.
There are currently about 51,000 people seeking treatment in hospitals.
Police are monitoring cycling activities around KL, after some of them were spotted hanging out in groups in the capital.
They warned that summonses will be handed out, if they’re caught violating MCO rules.
PDRM stressed that MCO rules only allow cycling activities to be conducted alone and within a 10km radius of the cyclist’s residence.
