Parents have been reminded to monitor their children amid the country’s current flood situation.

This is after a 15-year-old boy was found drowned in Kemaman to become Terengganu’s first fatality.

Cops believe the victim was playing in one-metre-deep flood waters before going missing.

The victim has since been sent to hospital for an autopsy.

Over 1 tonne food supply sent to Kelantan and Terengganu

More than a tonne of basic food supplies has been distributed to Kelantan and Terengganu, amid the state’s ongoing flooding.

The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department says the food aid was not only given to those at evacuation centres, but also to residents cut off by floodwaters.

It adds that it has over 26,000 full-time personnel and volunteer firefighters, who are ready to be mobilised to the flood-hit states.

New COVID-19 SOPs for VTL, Langkawi OSC travellers

Starting Thursday, travellers entering Malaysia through selected programs will be subject to new COVID-19 SOPs.

The Health Ministry says they will not be required to undergo self-testing on the second, fourth, and sixth day after they arrive in the country, among other SOPs.

This applies to those travelling via land and air VTL, Langkawi International Tourism Bubble, and One Stop Centre for short-term business visitors.

However, travellers will still need to get themselves tested two days before departing to Malaysia and upon their arrival.
