The government’s special Aidifiltri cash aid is available to all eligible civil servants and government pensioners.

The Prime Minister says this includes those who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says he never set any vaccination conditions to receive the assistance.

However, he says even though it is not mandatory to get the jab, Malaysians are urged to complete their vaccination.

Earlier, he announced that civil servants Grade 56 and below will be given RM500, while pensioners will receive RM250.

The government has been urged to immediately make amendments to the Persons with Disabilities Act and the Care Centres Act.

Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi says authorities must do more to address issues involving the abuse of children with disabilities.

The senator, who represents persons with disabilities in Dewan Negara, also wants authorities to close care homes that are not registered with the Social Welfare Department.

This, as the founder of a welfare home in KL is currently on trial for allegedly abusing a 13-year-old girl with Down Syndrome.
