A flight instructor has been killed, while another suffered injuries, after the light aircraft they were flying crashed in Ipoh last night.

Police, and the relevant aviation authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident.

Based on an initial investigation, police say the deceased is a 52-year-old retired Air Force fighter pilot.

The generational endgame anti-smoking bill has been tweaked, to ensure bi-partisan support.

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says the changes include reducing the quantum of fines from five thousand, to five hundred ringgit.

He adds that the bill – which went up for second reading in Parliament yesterday - is too important not to receive broad support from all sides.

Covid-19 cases have risen back above the three thousand mark.

3,213 new infections were reported nationwide yesterday…an increase of over 400 from the previous day’s tally.

There were also eight additional fatalities, while the number of recoveries stood at over 3,800.

The US has announced that it has killed Al-Qaeda chief Ayman Al Zawahiri in a drone strike in Kabul, Afghansitan.

Zawahiri is one of the world’s most wanted terrorists and is a suspected mastermind of the September 11th attacks.
