The Attorney General’s Chambers has filed an appeal against Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s acquittal in the foreign visa system case.

This after the Shah Alam High Court ruled last week that the prosecution had failed to establish a case against the UMNO president.

Datuk Seri Zahid had been charged with 40 counts of receiving bribes in connection with the visa system.

The Met Department has issued an alert for strong winds and rough seas for the coastal areas of several states, from tomorrow until October 1st.

This will affect Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Sabah and Labuan.

Meanwhile, members of the public are urged to avoid coastal areas in Kuala Langat, Selangor, due to high tides that are forecast to hit the area over three days starting today.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry wants a discussion with the Health Ministry…to address the shortage of beds in maternity wards at government hospitals.

Recent reports claimed that expectant mothers at some hospitals had to wait for days for a bed…and even had to sit in chairs while waiting to deliver.

Police have once again denied viral messages on social media, claiming that kids are being kidnapped to have their organs harvested.

PDRM says the fake message is the same one that has been circulating since 2017…despite being debunked numerous times.

The number of Covid-19 cases for the week ending September 24th saw a nearly 5 percent decline.

The Health Director-General says the admission rate of Covid patients to government hospitals was also lower over the past week.

Astro Malaysia’s net profit for the second quarter ended July rose 13 percent to over 98 million ringgit.

The group says its enjoyed more business subscriptions, buoyed by the reopening of the economy.

Astro also saw a 40 percent year-on-year increase in its broadband base, as more customers opted for internet and content bundles.
