The number of Covid-19 cases nationwide increased to over 6,700 for the week ending December 2nd.

The Health Ministry says this is up from the 3,600-plus infections reported during the previous week.

However, the rate of severe cases and hospital admissions remains low.

The government will continue blocking online content that can influence or compromise public morals.

The Communications and Digital Minister says more than seven thousand such websites have been blocked between 2018 and this past November.

Fahmi Fadzil adds that the MCMC is also working with companies like Facebook, Whatsapp and TikTok to curb pornographic content on these social media platforms.

Police have received nearly two dozen reports since January, regarding individuals impersonating officers from the National Scam Response Center.

Bukit Aman’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department says these scammers even managed to con Malaysians out of nearly 720 million ringgit during this period.

The cops are also reminding that the Scam Response Center only receives calls from the public…and will never make calls to any individual.

The government’s Rahmah Cash Aid was the most-searched for news item in Malaysia over the past year.

According to Google…Oppenheimer was the most-searched for movie in the country for 2023…while the iPhone 15 topped the list of gadget searches.
