Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Cabinet reshuffle appears well thought-out to help the government achieve its targets over the next four years.

Political analyst Professor Datuk Dr Sivamurugan Pandian says the minor changes to the lineup are likely in response to the Prime Minister’s review of his administration’s performance since coming into power last November.

Under yesterday’s reshuffle, the number of ministers has increased from 28 to 31…while there are now 29 deputies…up from 27 previously.

Sivamurugan also feels the new lineup has a good mix of fresh and experienced additions, which demonstrates the administration’s intent and seriousness in implementing the Madani agenda.

This, after yesterday’s reshuffle saw the return of former Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefley Ahmad and Gobind Singh Deo, in addition to first-time minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

In a related development, the EPF will name a new CEO soon…to take over from Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.

This, following his appointment as the new Second Finance Minister under the Cabinet reshuffle.

-

Separately, former Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Heart Institute or IJN.

-

Police have taken more samples from the residents of an apartment complex in Damansara, as part of the investigation into the murder of six-year-old Zayn Rayyan.

Cops are also reportedly looking at dashcam footage from parked cars in the vicinity, in the hopes of uncovering more clues about the boy’s disappearance last week.

-

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has denied social media rumours that the diesel subsidy will be abolished for all vehicles next month.
