The number of flood evacuees in Kelantan continues to rise, hitting over four thousand as of this morning.

The victims are being housed at 14 evacuation centers Tanah Merah and Pasir Mas.

Over in Terengganu…there are currently over 2,300 evacuees Setiu, Besut, Marang, Dungun, and Hulu Terengganu.

Meanwhile, there are still around 80 evacuees in Perak…with the number of victims in Selangor down to just over 50.

This, as Met Malaysia issued an alert for continuous rain over four days for parts of Pahang and Johor starting tomorrow…and for tomorow and Tuesday in Sabah.

The Higher Education Ministry says the Covid-19 situation at higher learning institutions remains under control, despite the rise in cases nationwide.

Its also urging all students to continue taking preventive measures, adding that the ministry will regularly seek guidance from health authorities to curb the spread if the disease on campus.

Meanwhile, the Minister in the PM’s Department for Religious Affairs is urging all mosques and surau around the country to practice the proper SOP’s, including encouraging worshipers to wear face masks.

And, police will expedite their investigation into a senior cop, suspected of being involved in a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a secondary school student in Perak.

The state police chief says this is so the case can be brought to court without delay.
