The Prime Minister has announced five new projects to reduce the frequency of flooding nationwide.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says it involves an allocation of over 910 million ringgit, and will be implemented as early as next month.

This, as Terengganu saw a slight improvement in its flood situation, with the number of evacuees down to around 2,900 as of this morning.

Neighboring Kelantan remains the worst-affected state with around 19 thousand individuals seeking shelter at relief centers there.

There are also a further 270 evacuees in Pahang and Johor combined.

-

The Housing and Local Government Ministry says it is working to identify the damage sustained to the homes of flood victims …before taking the appropriate steps to provide assistance.

It also assured that victims in Kelantan and Terengganu will still be helped…even though these states are under Opposition rule.
