Face masks are still not mandatory despite the recent rise in Covid-19 cases.

The Health Minister says this its because we’re still in the green category, meaning cases and hospital admissions are under control.

Nevertheless, he urged Malaysians to remain vigilant and to take the necessary precautions to prevent infection.

There will be no official New Year’s Eve celebration by the Federal government this year.

The Communications Minister says this is out of respect and solidarity with the victims of the ongoing flooding in several parts of the country, and the current fighting in Gaza.

However, Fahmi Fadzil says state governments and local authorities may organize their own programs that are suited to their local environments.

The number of flood evacuees nationwide continues to decline.

As of this morning…Kelantan has over 14 thousand victims…while there are some 720 people seeking shelter at relief centers in Terengganu.

While Pahang and Johor combined still have less than 200 victims.

It is not compulsory for members of the public to update their information on the new National Central Database or PADU.

However, the Economy Minister warns that those who opt out, will have their eligibility for targeted subsidies determined by whatever information is already available on the government system.

Registration and updating of information under PADU will begin from Tuesday until March 31st.
