Govt: No Need To Suspend PADU Registrations

Jan 03, 2024

govt: no need to suspend padu registrations

Efforts are under way to deal with the bugs and vulnerabilities in the PADU database.

This is after the problems were highlighted by social media users yesterday.

Economy Minister, Rafizi Ramli says his ministry has already fixed an exploit, which allows any individual to override and change any other user's password.

Meanwhile, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil assured Malaysians that authorities will work hard to ensure your data on Padu is secure..

Also, Fahmi says there is no need to temporarily suspend PADU registrations due to the security issue.

This is because those concerns have been addressed.

Meanwhile, Fahmi says as of this morning, more than 230 thousand people have registered for the database.

PADU is the centralised database that will determine a person's eligibility for targeted subsidies and other forms of government assistance moving forward.
