PADU is starting to release data regarding the registration rate for the government database according to state.

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli says this will enable authorities identify which states need help to boost or improve the takeup rate.

Rafizi adds that for now, registrations have been highest in urban areas – as expected – with Selangor leading the way.

The number of flood evacuees in Johor has almost doubled from earlier yesterday, to nearly 1,500.

The victims are currently being housed at evacuation centers across Kota Tinggi, Mersing, Kluang and JB.

This, as Met Malaysia issued an alert for continuous heavy rain for parts of Johor and Pahang until this Sunday.

More than 160 thousand bank accounts and phone numbers related to scammers have been listed on Bukit Aman’s Semak Mule database.

The cops say the information is to help the public avoid falling victim to these dubious individuals or companies.

And, elsewhere, a woman in her 80’s has been pulled out alive from the rubble of her collapsed home…over three days after the massive earthquake that hit central Japan.

It comes as rescue teams race against time to find more survivors…with the chances of finding anyone alive dropping substantially after the initial 72-hour window.
