Bomba To Inspect All DBKL Flats

Feb 14, 2024

bomba to inspect all dbkl flats

The Fire and Rescue Department will conduct a comprehensive inspection of all DBKL flats.

The KL Bomba director says a special task force has been set up for this purpose, and it will come up with suggestions to improve fire safety at these premises.

This, following the recent fire that affected several units at the Sri Sabah flats in Cheras.

The bomba director says according to initial investigations, the blaze was caused by a short circuit, and not fireworks, as claimed in some media reports.

Meanwhile, other reports said that bomba's efforts to put out the blaze were hampered because the building's firefighting systems were faulty.

People who go through long commutes every day face several long-term health issues, and a higher risk of an early death.

The NST, citing a UKM public health expert says this is due to their long-term exposure to air pollutants, which can lead to issues like chronic lung diseases, high blood pressure, stroke and asthma.

Meanwhile, sitting inside your vehicle for extended periods can cause problems like repetitive stress injuries, and back, neck and hip pain.

MetMalaysia has issued a Level 1 heat alert for the districts of Langkawi and Pokok Sena, in Kedah.

This is after these areas recorded temperatures of between 35 – 37 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days.

Because of this, the department has urged people there to avoid outdoor activities, while farmers have been told to refrain from open burning.
