Heat Wave In Pokok Sena

One area in the northern Peninsular is officially under a heat wave.  

According to MetMalaysia, this is after Pokok Sena, Kedah met its criteria for a Level-2 Heat Wave today. 

The district reported maximum temperatures of between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius for at least 3 straight days.  

Meanwhile 15 other areas in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor and Sabah were under a Level-1 heat alert, with temperatures of 35-37 degrees.

In related news, authorities have kicked off a two-day cloud seeding operation over water catchment areas in Penang and Perak.  

The Women, Family and Community Development Minister says it's to ensure there is enough water in these catchment areas amid the current hot and dry spell.

The Law and Institutional Reform Minister has told Parliament that the government is committed to updating the relevant legislation to help combat scam cases.  

It's to ensure that our laws keep up with advances in technology.

The govt is open to maintaining the SST rate for electricity and water bills. 

According to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, the proposal will be raised at the next meeting of the National Action Council on Cost of Living, next month.
