Expect Cooler Temperatures Up North

Mar 01, 2024

expect cooler temperatures up north

Residents in the Northern Peninsular can expect some relief from the hot and dry spell over the next few days.

According to MetMalaysia, this is due to cloud seeding operations that were recently conducted in the region.

It says while it's not expected to bring much rain, the damp air will help bring temperatures down.

This, as Pokok Sena, Kedah continues to be under a Level-2 heatwave alert today, with temperatures of between 37 and 40 degrees Celsius.

10 areas in Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak were under a Level-1 heat alert today.

Selangor assures it has enough water supplies to meet demand amid the current hot and dry spell.

According to the state government, water levels at six of its dams are still at over the 90% mark, while 3 are at 85% capacity.

It adds that it will start taking precautionary measures once water levels drop to below 70%.

Bomba has received over 5 thousand calls so far this year, to help remove snakes found in people's homes and gardens.

Officials say the reptiles were seeking shelter due to the hot and dry weather.

And the PM wants the IRB to come down hard on all tax dodgers, to dispel the perception that the rich can simply get away with it...

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also says that IRB's total tax collections rose nearly 5% last year, to RM183.34 billion.
