School kids could be exempted from participating in the revamped National Service Training Program.

The current plan is for students to join the first phase of the program in Form Four…where they will participate in things like police cadet, junior firefighters and scouts activities.

However, the Defense Ministry is now considering starting the program with school leavers who are about to enter university instead…amid concerns that the initial plan could distract the students from their lessons.

Singapore is rolling out a new feature next week, that will allow those driving in and out of the republic to clear immigration with QR codes.

However, travelers will still need to present their physical passports at Malaysian checkpoints.
