Jun 13, 2025

only one survivor in india plane crash

Air India has confirmed that only one passenger survived yesterday's deadly plane crash in Ahmedabad.

The sole survivor – a British national – is now recovering in hospital.

241 other passengers and crew as well as around 50 civilians on the ground are believed to have perished when the plane slammed into a medical college hostel shortly after takeoff.

Final confirmation of the death toll is pending DNA testing.

In a related development, US officials say there is no immediate need to ground other Boeing 787 flights following the accident.

They add that it's still too early to determine the cause of the crash.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his condolences to the families of those affected, adding that Malaysia stands in solidarity with India.
