Trump: Iran and Israel Agree To Ceasefire

Jun 24, 2025

trump: iran and israel agree to ceasefire

There has yet to be any official confirmation from Iran and Israel about whether the two countries have agreed to a ceasefire, as claimed by US president Donald Trump.

Both have indicated they are prepared to honour the truce as long as the other side stops hostilities, although there have now been reports of fresh attacks by Iran on Israeli targets.

This comes despite Trump earlier announcing that Israel and Iran have agreed to a complete ceasefire, which was to take effect in the coming hours.

In a related development back home… the government will closely monitor the effect of the expanded SST on the Malaysian economy…given the uncertainty caused by ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The Treasury Secretary General says it is still too early to say how the Iran-Israel conflict will affect our inflation and cost of living.

The Prime Minister has enjoyed an improved approval rating.

According to a new mid-term survey by Merdeka Center, 55 percent of respondents approved of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership…up from 53 percent in December last year.

Only 36 percent expressed dissatisfaction…while nine percent were neutral.

Meanwhile, satisfaction with the overall performance of the government was evenly split.

Workers who are paid below the current minimum wage of 1,700 ringgit are urged to lodge a complaint with the Labour Department.

The Human Resources Ministry says failure to pay the minimum wage is a serious offence, and it will not hesitate to take stern action against errant employers.

This comes following recent reports that some tour bus drivers were being paid a basic salary of only around 700 ringgit a month.

The government hopes to have 200 thousand individuals discharged from bankruptcy by the end of the year.

The de-facto Law Minister says this is part of the government’s efforts to give the affected group a chance to carry on with their lives without the burden of bankruptcy.
