JPJ Extends Discount Programme!
Jul 01, 2025

The discounts for the settlement of JPJ traffic summonses has been extended until the end of this year.
The JPJ says the special flat rate of RM150 ringgit will apply to three categories of summonses, including summonses under the AWAS Automatic Safety Awareness System that were issued from October 2018.
This, as relatively few offenders took up the initial discount offer, which ended yesterday.
Only 440,000 JPJ summonses were settled under the discount programme, which started in early January.
Over 2 million other summonses remain unpaid.

Police say so far, they have yet to confirm a motive for the killing of a university student in Cyberjaya last week, but it appears to have been premeditated.
The Selangor police chief adds that while a pathologist's report had found no evidence of rape, cops have not completely ruled out the possibility of sexual assault.
They are looking for more evidence on the matter.
Earlier reports said four people were detained over the murder, including the victim's housemate and the housemate's boyfriend.

The Federal Court has decided on the final appeals of 6 people convicted over the murder of deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais 10 years ago.
The apex court upheld the convictions of 3 of the appellants.
One of them, a former Army Doctor was ordered to serve out his death sentence.
The other two had their death sentences commuted to prison terms of 35 and 40 years respectively.
The three remaining appellants had their convictions overturned, as the Federal Court ruled that the prosecution failed to prove their case against them.
