Police have reminded people to avoid all speculation, after a Form 3 student fell from a school hostel in Sabak Bernam, Selangor.  

The state police chief has promised a transparent and thorough investigation, that will focus on aspects including child safety at the school, as well as hostel management, and the victim's background. 

In the meantime, he warned people NOT to speculate on the case.  

According to reports, the student suffered severe head injuries including a brain hemorrhage.  

According to BH, the student is currently in ICU after undergoing surgery 

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry is conducting its own internal investigation into the incident.  

It adds that the principal, the senior assistant for student affairs, and all wardens have been temporarily reassigned to the state Education Department pending the outcome of the probe.

The Sabah Chief Minister has urged religious institutions to clamp down on the culture of bullying at their respective schools.  

He says the death of Zara Qairina, who was allegedly bullied at her religious school, should serve as a wake-up call for all parties.

A woman has been hospitalised for her injuries, after her car collided with an elephant along Jalan Mersing –Endau in Johor last night.  

Meanwhile, wildlife authorities confirmed that the elephant survived and returned to the forest.

The IGP says cops will seek assistance from their overseas partners to find the individual whose phone number was used to send threats to the wife of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.  

Cops previously confirmed that the number was registered to a foreign national.  

The threats were sent to Rafizi's wife shortly after his son was attacked a mall in Putrajaya recently.
