Probe Ongoing In Bandar Utama Stabbing Case
Oct 15, 2025

Police are still working on establishing a motive behind the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old girl at a school in Bandar Utama.
Cops say they’re still in the midst of recording statements from witnesses, and are investigating the case from all angles, including the possibility that the 14-year-old suspect had been rejected by the victim.
PDRM is also investigating if the suspect – who is now in custody - had been suffering from mental health issues, as well as how he managed to bring the weapons to school.
He has since been remanded for a week and is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry says classes will continue at the school as usual, with efforts being taken to ensure the police investigation does not interfere with the teaching and learning process.
The Ministry has also already sent a team of counsellors to offer psychosocial support for the students, teachers and staff of the affected school.
The incident has also prompted the PM to call for tougher regulation on the unchecked use of social media, which he says is a contributing factor behind recent criminal incidents in schools.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he will be directing the Cabinet to look into the matter at the next minister’s meeting.
