EC Confirms Sabah State Election Dates
Oct 16, 2025

The Sabah state election will take place on November 29th.
In its announcement today, the Election Commission says nomination day has been set for November 15, while early voting will be on the 25th.
The EC also says for now, there will be no postal voting for Sabahans living in other states...meaning they will have to return to cast their ballots.
This comes after the state assembly was dissolved earlier this month, to pave the way for the 17th state election.
It will involve a contest for 73 constituencies.
This is after the motion to give Sabah 13 more state seats was passed in 2019, increasing it from 60.
