Crowded Field For Sabah State Election

It will be a crowded field for the upcoming Sabah state election, with a record 596 candidates from 24 political to contest for the 73 seats on offer.
The most crowded of these will be the Tulid seat, which will see a 14-cornered fight.
According to the Election Commission, there will also be a further four 13-cornered battles…two seats with 12 candidates contesting…and six with 11 candidates.
The youngest candidate this year is 24, while the oldest is 86.
Only 71 candidates are women, representing less than 12 percent of the total number of individuals contesting.
Polling day has been set for November 29th, while early voting will take place on the 25th.

Meanwhile, the MCMC is reminding social media users to be ethical and responsible about what they post in the run-up to the election.
It also warns that stern action will be taken against those who touch on topics related to race, religion or royalty.

In other news, all public hospitals and clinics will have access to electronic medical records by 2029.
The Health Ministry says the gradual rollout will cover nearly 150 hospitals and more than three thousand clinics across the country.
