Nov 18, 2025

ecrl structure collapses on mrr2

A woman has managed to escape injury, after her car was struck by debris from an ECRL construction site along the MRR2 near Batu Caves, Selangor earlier today.

It was caused by a steel support structure that collapsed onto the road.

According to the Fire and Rescue Dept, the driver was pulled out of her vehicle by members of the public, before authorities arrived at the scene.

For now, authorities are still trying to determine what caused the incident.

However, the affected stretch has since reopened to traffic, after authorities deemed there are no further risks of collapse.

The Works Ministry says so far, it has not received any official proposals to impose a vehicle charge for motorists using Jalan Genting Highlands.

Its minister said this, after the company that owns the private road said it plans to impose such a charge in the future.

Starting January 1st, all visitors to Malaysia's marine parks MUST take all their trash back with them to the mainland.

The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry says it's part of efforts to curb pollution at these sites, especially plastic waste, which is a major threat to marine ecosystems.
