tropical storm senyar weakens

Tropical Storm Senyar has dissipated after making landfall on the west coast of the Peninsular.  

Met Malaysia says the storm has now been downgraded to a low-pressure weather system...as it makes its way across Pahang and eastwards towards the South China Sea. 

The Department also warned that although the storm has weakened, several episodes of rain are still expected in parts of the Peninsular.

Several quarters are stepping up efforts to ease the burden faced by flood victims across the country.  

This includes the Immigration Department, which is offering free replacements for passports lost or damaged by flooding.  

Meanwhile, several banks are offering a range of financial relief measures such as loan and financing instalment deferments as well as fee waivers to replace damaged banking documents and cards.

The Education Ministry plans to roll out six new subjects under the revamped 2027 school curriculum.

The new subjects will combine elements of science, arts, music, health, TVET and digital skills.

At least 94 people are now reported to have died after a massive fire engulfed a high-rise public housing complex in Hong Kong, with rescue efforts ongoing to find over 200 others who are still unaccounted for.

And, the Trump administration says it will re-examine green cards issued to individuals who immigrated to the US from 19 countries including Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti, Iran, Somalia, and Venezuela.
