The Foreign Ministry is keeping a close eye on the situation in northeastern Japan, which has been hit by a powerful 7.6 magnitude earthquake.

It says there are no reports so far of any Malaysians being affected.

However, its also advising our nationals there to remain vigilant, avoid coastal areas, and follow the official guidance of local authorities.

At least 30 people were injured in the quake, while tens of thousands others were forced to evacuate.

Authorities have also warned local residents to be on alert for at least a week, due to the possibility of a stronger tremor in the coming days.

The list of names of the next batch of trainees for National Service 3.0 can be reviewed online.

Those selected will then have until the 25th to confirm their attendance in order to ensure a smooth registration and administration process.

The NS Training Department also says attendance is compulsory, with stern action to be taken against those who fail to report in without a reasonable excuse.

The first series of 2026 will take place from mid-January to early March.

More than 67 thousand online crime cases have been reported nationwide in the first eleven months of the year.

PDRM says this involved losses exceeding 2.7 billion ringgit.

It adds that telco scams topped the list of cases during this period, followed by e-commerce fraud and non-existent investment schemes.
