More Than 10,000 Now Evacuated Due To Floods

The number of flood evacuees nationwide has crossed the ten thousand mark.
At last look, the Social Welfare Department’s portal shows Pahang is the worst-affected…accounting for more than 90 percent of the displaced victims.
The affected districts are Kuantan, Maran, Rompin, Pekan and Jerantut.
Meanwhile, Terengganu currently has over 520 evacuees…some 350 victims are in Johor…while just over a dozen evacuees have been displaced in Gua Musang, Kelantan.

This, as the public was reminded to remain vigilant amid the uncertain weather conditions during the Northeast Monsoon.
DPM Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says you should comply with instructions by the authorities and keep up to date with the latest weather and flood info via official government channels.
He also urged parents to closely monitor their kids’ activities and keep them away from high-risk areas like rivers and large drains.
