Wisma Putra: M'sians In Venezuela Are Safe
Jan 04, 2026

Wisma Putra says so far, it has not received any reports of Malaysians being caught up in the US attack on Venezuela.
The ministry is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of our citizens in the South American nation.
Wisma Putra adds, Malaysia is strongly against any form of foreign interference in the affairs of other countries, and any international disputes must be resolved through dialogue.
This, after America launched military strikes on the capital, Caracas and captured Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro.
Maduro has since been taken to the US, where he will face trial in New York on drug and weapons charges.
Meanwhile, US president Donald Trump says America will seize Venezuela’s oil reserves, which are reported to be the largest in the world.
America will also assume leadership of the country until a “judicious transition” can happen.
