Thumbs Up For Efforts To Improve Education System
Jan 21, 2026

The National Union of the Teaching Profession has praised the government's efforts to improve the country's Education System.
It told NST that the move to make Bahasa Melayu and History compulsory subjects for all Malaysian students, regardless of stream, will help improve proficiency in the national language.
The NUTP adds that the introduction of standardized examinations for Year 4 pupils is also a good move.
It's because it'll help schools and teachers identify students who need early academic intervention.
This, in turn, gives schools more time to help pupils improve before they enter secondary school.

It explained that the relevant quarters will study the move first before any final decision is made.
