Anti-Littering Enforcement Is Fair To All

The new anti-littering law is being enforced fairly for both Malaysians and foreign nationals.
SWCorp assured that action will be taken against offenders regardless of nationality, while denying that foreigners are being targeted more than locals.
It adds that so far just under 500 offence notices have been issued nationwide…of which 117 were against foreign nationals.

Separately, more than 42 million foreign nationals visited Malaysia last year…up from the 38 million arrivals recorded in 2024.

33 rivers nationwide are currently categorized as polluted.
The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry says this is an increase from the 25 polluted rivers recorded two years ago.
