Convicted rapist slapped with longer jail term

A civil servant who has already been sentenced to 60 years' jail and 30 strokes of the cane for raping his 17-year-old stepdaughter now has to spend more time behind bars. 

This, after a court in Petra Jaya, Sarawak added 18 years to his prison term, and another five strokes of the cane, after he pleaded guilty to another charge of the same offence.

In all, the 54-year-old man was slapped with 7 charges of raping his stepdaughter, and the court will decide on punishment for the remaining offences next month.
