Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad believes it is still not suitable to hold the 15th General Election soon, despite the country's COVID-19 situation being more under control now.

The former PM cited the Sabah state election in 2020, where at the time daily infections were low, but quickly rose following the state polls.

As such, he reckons precautionary measures should continue to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Education Ministry will not tolerate schools tyring to hide bullying cases

School authorities have been reminded not to hide bullying cases involving their students.

The Education Ministry stressed that it takes the issue seriously and will not compromise with those attempting to cover up such cases.

It says schools must instead be transparent in reporting incidents of bullying to boost awareness among students to be more empathetic with their peers.

Malaysians advised to take precautions to beat the heat

Malaysians have been advised to be cautious amid rising temperatures and warmer weather, to avoid heat stroke.

The Health Ministry says Malaysians should rehydrate themselves well, avoid unnecessary strenuous exercise, as well as monitor for signs of heat exhaustion among others.

It adds that anyone showing symptoms of heat stroke should get themselves to cooler areas and seek immediate help.
