mcmc: no personal info gathered from phone data collection

MCMC has assured mobile phone users of their privacy in its collection of mobile data from telcos.  

It says the data collected is anonymised, meaning that no personal information will be disclosed.  

MCMC says among other things, the data collection is aimed at getting detailed statistics on broadband penetration rates in specific areas.  

It will also help authorities get valuable statistics for the tourism sector.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia has extended his Hari Raya Aidiladha wishes to all Muslims in this country. 

His Majesty also expressed hope that the spirit of sacrifice will continue to unite the people in harmony, love and universal human values. 

Meanwhile, the PM says Aidiladha is not just about the physical act of worship, but it is also a manifestation of solidarity and universal repentance. 

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also urged Muslims to remember the sacrifices of those who are suffering, especially in Gaza.

The Consumers Association of Penang has urged the government to follow the UK's lead in banning the sale and use of disposable vapes.

Authorities have resumed a search and rescue operation for two people who are still missing after a boat capsized off Port Klang yesterday,  

The Maritime Enforcement Agency says so far three people are confirmed dead, including a three-year-old boy.
