Preliminary Report On FRU Crash Is Out
Jun 12, 2025

The lorry involved in last month's crash that killed 9 FRU personnel in Perak was severely overloaded.
According to the Transport Ministry's preliminary report, it was carrying gravel that exceeded the permitted limit by 70%.
It had also lacked a mandatory GPS tracker.
As for the FRU truck, the report highlighted several safety concerns including a lack of seat belts in the rear cabin and front seats.
The report explained that the absence of such safety features significantly increased the risk of injury and death.
The preliminary investigation also found that the accident was caused by the lorry entering the opposite lane before colliding with the FRU truck.
