upsi crash: no signs of mechanical failure

Human error or road conditions are likely to be among the causes of the recent bus crash that killed 15 UPSI students.

The Transport Ministry says inspections on the bus have revealed no signs of brake failure or other mechanical faults.

It adds that PUSPAKOM inspections show all brake components were in good condition.

This contradicts an earlier claim by the bus driver, who had alleged that his brakes were not working at the time of the crash.

Wisma Putra has issued a travel advisory for Iran, Iraq and Jordan.

Its urging Malaysians to postpone all non-essential trips to these countries amid the ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran.

Meanwhile, MARA is advising its sponsored students in Jordan to remain vigilant…while the relevant officials have also been directed to keep a close eye on the scholars.

This, as Iran and Israel launched a fresh wave of missile attacks on each other overnight, sparking fears of a wider conflict.
