Malaysia will continue its trade negotiations with the US, despite the new 25% tariff that was announced by President Donald Trump recently.  

Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz says so far the talks have been positive, and he stressed that Malaysia will accept compromises that will affect our interests.  

He adds that there is still time for negotiations, as the 25% tariff takes place from the first of next month.

Bank Negara has cut its Overnight Policy Rate by 25 basis points to 2.75% to support growth amid global economic uncertainty.  

It's the first rate cut in 5 years, and it's also the first time the benchmark interest rate fell below 3% since 2023.

Police are still investigating a viral incident, in which a group of cyclists were seen obstructing a bus along Jalan Kuala Selangor-KL recently.  

So far, they have recorded statements from four individuals – namely three cyclists and the bus driver. 

Earlier reports said that some of the cyclists were blocking the bus’ path by riding side-by-side, in breach of road safety rules.

The Higher Education Ministry is conducting a study to determine how many students have been affected by Buy Now Pay Later Schemes.  

This, after the ministry received reports of students falling victim to such schemes, which later turn into high-interest loans.
