Security Stepped Up At Transit Zones

The government is stepping up efforts to foil attempts to enter the country illegally.
As such, the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency has increased surveillance and the use of CCTV cameras across all international transit zones.
This, after over 140 foreign nationals tried to enter Malaysia illegally by misusing the transit facilities at KLIA2 this past week.
The culprits are said to have booked connecting flights to gain access to the transit hall, before attempting to leave the area under false pretenses.

The government will set up a committee to review the current system for appointing judges, as part of efforts to clear up any public confusion and concern regarding the process.
The de-facto Law Minister says although the system, which has been in place since 2009, has helped appoint five Chief Justices, the current situation has raised questions that needs to be addressed.

The Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry is encouraging women facing domestic problems to go through the government’s official channels for support.
This is to avoid issues like the controversial marriage motivation program, which the police are currently investigating for alleged immoral behavior and deviant teachings.

The Malaysian Medical Association is urging the Health Ministry to clarify the structure and operations of the newly announced Rakan KKM initiative.
It says while it welcomes the new program, which will help ease the pressure on the public healthcare system... transparency is needed to clear up any confusion.

Separately, the federal and Johor governments will establish a joint task force to tackle the shortage of healthcare workers in the state's public hospitals.
It comes after a high-level meeting between the Health Ministry and Johor Menteri Besar.
